They were sent on a mission to rescue people from the Skrulls, the alien Shapeshifters they fighting against Kree. During this mission, Vers was captured by Skrull Commander Talos.
They were trying to extract a memory from her as they were searching for something and found out some clue about the earth.
Vers then escapes from the Skrulls and crash lands on Earth in Los Angeles. S.H.I.E.L.D agents Nick Fury and Phil Coulson take an interest in her and investigate the crash.
